Transformation C1/C2

Over the course of many years, important civil society actors such as the Wagenhalle e.V. art association and the Stadtacker e.V. urban gardening project have played a significant role in shaping the development of the C1/C2 sites of the Stuttgart 21 project in Stuttgart Nord. Taking into consideration the potential of these initiatives and the integration of the spaces into the developments of the Rosenstein Quarter, a vision for the programmatic and spatial development of the 'Wagenhallen Quarter' was developed together with the local actors. This working document has already been officially included within the IBA'27 network and in the IBA'27 project collection. The scenarios foresee the idea of a Maker City with a permanent establishment of a special development cultural zone as a pop-up space on the area in front of the Wagenhalle, thereby complementing the idea of the winning proposal of the Rosenstein urban planning competition.
